frank's question:
Tell me what you know about that complex of palaces in Shiraz destroyed by Alexander the Great.(give a different answer) .
In 512 BC, Darius the Great started the construction of a magnificent palace with cedar and precious woods brought from Lebanon, with the best imported stone and gold. In 60 years it became a marvel of the ancient world, though experts say he never lived in Persepolis, but used it only in new year rituals when people offered him gifts. In 330 BC, Alexander the Great set fire to the complex, which burned entirely. 15 buildings were restored to epitomise the grandeur.
